Meet Brian Cohen

Thirteen years ago, my family moved to Marlboro, drawn by its exceptional educational opportunities. My wife Fran and I encouraged our children, David (19) and Olivia (21), to embrace all that Marlboro had to offer, from sports and dance, to volunteering. The Marlboro Township Public School District and Freehold Regional High School District laid the foundation for our children’s educational success. Today, David is a rising junior at Virginia Tech, and Olivia earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware. Olivia is now preparing for graduate studies at Monmouth University and recently rejoined the Marlboro EMS squad where she will continue to serve this community.
My connection to public education and community has inspired me to run for a seat on the Marlboro Township Board of Education. My extensive experience and my commitment to hard work, family, community, and integrity qualify me for this role.
Growing up, my grandfather and stepfather were two of the most influential figures in my life. My grandfather was a New York City Transit Police Officer for 27 years, and my stepfather was a college instructor. Both heavily inspired my early commitment to public service and education.
I attended New York City public schools, worked through college, and continued working while in law school, understanding that my efforts directly impacted my future. My career includes nearly 10 years with the City of New York and over 20 years at the City University of New York (CUNY). I led New York City through the Y2K transition and while serving as a Deputy Commissioner, I supported its response and recovery after the 9-11 attacks. I then led IT innovation across CUNY’s 25 campuses as a Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer.
In 2022, I retired from CUNY and took on a new role, Vice President for the Center for Digital Education, supporting K-12 and higher education leaders nationwide. In just 2.5 years, I have expanded our programs and forged partnerships with national education leaders and organizations.
I have also served on the board of directors of NYSERNET for the past 21 years, currently as an officer and chair of the finance committee. NYSERNET is a non-profit organization providing regional network services to educational institutions, hospitals, and museums across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
The Marlboro Township Public School System serves roughly 4500 K-8 students and operates with a $100 million annual budget. Our district faces numerous operational and academic challenges, and most importantly, OPPORTUNITIES! Our town and children deserve a Board of Education that has the experience and expertise to lead, and to hold the administration to the highest standards. I don’t just talk the talk; I have walked the walk. In my position at CUNY, I served the needs of 225,000 students and 50,000 employees, managing an $80 million annual operating budget, and a $300 million capital budget. In my current position, I provide guidance, mentorship, and support for leaders in these crucial front-line educational roles.
I understand the challenges we face as a school district and community. If elected, my experience in public service, technology, and education equips me to have a meaningful impact on our school system’s future. I have a proven track record of creating innovative solutions, fostering partnerships, and driving progress, and I am ready to put my experience to work supporting our school district. With your support, I will work to ensure that our schools excel, our students thrive, and our community remains a place we are proud to call home.
I am committed to the success of Marlboro schools and children. Vote for me and let me help make a difference! Thank you.
Meet Jenna Corraro

I moved to Marlboro from Long Island as a child in 1999 and credit Marlboro with laying a foundation for the adult I am today. I am running for the Board of Education so that I can support the Marlboro Township School District as it works to provide our children with the outstanding education each of them deserves.
Back in 1999, my parents chose Marlboro for its excellent educational system. I feel very fortunate to have received the quality of education that I received, which paved the way for my success. When it came time for my husband, Joe, and I to choose the place to raise our kids, Marlboro was the natural choice. Today, our children Freddie (2nd grade) and Toni (Kindergarten) are enrolled in Marlboro public schools, where they’re learning, growing, and receiving an excellent education, thanks to their wonderful teachers, classmates, and administrators. But I know that we can do even better for them and all of our children, which is what inspires me to run for the Board of Education.
My Marlboro teachers instilled a love of lifelong learning that I share with my children every day. It was those dedicated teachers and role models that motivated me to become an educator. I have over 10 years of experience in the education field, currently, as a full-time Instructional Designer and an adjunct professor at Drew University and Essex County College, and formerly at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. I hold a Teaching Certification in English for secondary schools and specialize in post-secondary education, creating dynamic, engaging, and inclusive learning environments.
I hold two Masters’ degrees; one in Professional and Technical Communication from NJIT and the other is in a humanities-based field, Arts and Letters, from Drew University. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Drew in Arts and Letters, where I am a valued member of the educational community.
I have a passion for education and a commitment to student success. I strive to participate in professional development and collaborative initiatives at every opportunity to enhance teaching practices and educational outcomes professionally, and I want to bring those skills to my role as a member of the Marlboro Board of Education.
I am excited at the opportunity to advance the work of the Board and be an integral part of the community that nurtured and inspired me. I want to serve the residents of Marlboro so that your children have the education they deserve to be successful in their lives and careers

Meet Nirav Kadakia

I have been a proud resident of Marlboro for 12 years, living with my wonderful wife, Parul, and our two children, Aria (5th grade) and Kareena (3rd grade). My wife and I chose Marlboro for its excellent schools and supportive community. We are thrilled with the outstanding education our children have received, including opportunities like the Gifted & Talented Program, PEP, REACH, and C Level classes.
Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, I benefited from the excellent NJ school systems, which taught me that hard work, perseverance, family, and community can help anyone achieve their goals. My parents instilled in me the belief that hard work, a strong education, and community commitment lead to success. These lessons have fueled my passion for education and my desire today to serve on the Marlboro Board of Education.
I believe our Board members should be seen as role models by the children we serve and that we should inspire them through our own education and personal and professional achievements.
With over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Computational Biology, giving me a strong foundation in both technical and analytical skills. Over the past 15 years, I have excelled in leadership positions, focusing on mentorship, career growth, project planning, budgeting, and organizational change. My career is marked by a commitment to continuous growth, improvement and technical advancement.
Beyond my professional achievements, I am proud to be an enthusiastic dance dad and coach for my daughters’ basketball and soccer teams with Marlboro Recreation. Volunteering is the foundation of our community and that of our Board of Education. As a mentor to adults through the Streetwise Partners program I extend my volunteering by teaching essential interviewing and computer skills to enhance their job opportunities and prospects.
