We are deeply grateful for the trust and support you’ve shown in this election. On behalf of Brian and myself, we’re honored to serve the community as part of a Board committed to educational excellence for our students. Together, we can build a strong foundation rooted in transparency, accountability, and a shared vision for our schools. We’ve already reached out to the Board and district leadership to start building that partnership! We look forward to working with the continuing board members, including Danielle Bellomo, following her successful election last night.

We also look forward to working closely with our community and families, exploring new ways to foster positive, productive relationships with everyone who cares so deeply about our children’s future.

Lastly, Brian and I are saddened that Nirav won’t be joining us on this journey next year, but we’ll carry forward his commitment and vision in our work. We’re encouraged by his dedication to the success of all Marlboro students. Thank you, Nirav, for being such a driving force in the Partners Improving Education campaign.

WE HAVE A LOT
TO SAY AND MORE TO DO.

The future of Marlboro students is bright.

We think we can make it brighter.

While we don’t like talking negatively about Marlboro schools, some things need to be said. Transparency is vacant. Test scores are falling while bullying is rising. Our Board is more focused on personal goals and settling vendettas. We have no plans to improve our technology. And administrators and staff are left unchecked. We will not sit back and let these trends affect our children.

Ask yourself this: When is the last time our Board made a good decision?

READ OUR  PLAN BELOW

LEAD WITH INTEGRITY.

Leadership is crucial for any board to function effectively and stay ahead of challenges. As experienced leaders, we will drive our district to be proactive, holding ourselves and the administration accountable.

WHY THIS MATTERS.

Currently, our Board is in a constant state of disarray, moving from one self-inflicted crisis to another due to a lack of leadership and accountability. This dysfunction is evident in our meetings, where ill-thought-out motions are presented without considering consequences or implementation processes (watch the video below). Decisions are impulsive, and members are pressured into voting in a grandstanding fashion.

IMPROVE OUTCOMES AND PERFORMANCE.

Our goal is to exceed standards, not just meet them. Marlboro schools should provide superior educational outcomes that parents expect and our children deserve.

WHY THIS MATTERS.

Administrators will tell you that MTPS students are meeting state standards, but our goals are to exceed those standards. In a high performing district, just good enough is NOT good enough. The data doesn’t lie, and this is unacceptable (performance data available here). A district of our size and in this community should far exceed standards. We must change this trajectory to ensure our students receive the best education possible.

PRACTICE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY WITHOUT SACRIFICING EDUCATION.

In the face of fiscal challenges, we will maximize every taxpayer dollar to ensure our children receive a quality education. This requires experience, talent, creativity, and the willingness to make tough choices. We bring all of this to the table.

WHY THIS MATTERS.

Marlboro Township Public Schools operate with a $100 million annual budget, and the Board is responsible for approving it. Our BOE is bleeding money on self-indulgent causes that do not benefit Marlboro students. This year, the Board raised our taxes to compensate (below is an analysis of your tax impact). That must end. The Board’s job is to make sure our schools educate. Grandstanding at the expense of our district does not achieve anything! Did you know that over the last three years, Marlboro has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on litigation expenses? That money should have been spent on students and teachers, not lawyers.

REPRESENT ALL OF MARLBORO.

We believe in meeting the needs of the entire community, not just the loudest voices. You deserve a Board that listens to every parent, child, and taxpayer.

WHY THIS MATTERS.

The current Board panders to the squeakiest wheels, neglecting broader community needs. This is why you no longer have Champions as an aftercare provider, replaced by a more expensive and less flexible option. It doesn’t have to be this way. Our plan is to meet the needs of the entire community. You deserve a Board that truly listens and knows how to implement.

BE ACCOUNTABLE.

Accountability should be a commonsense reflex for any Board. We pledge to make accountability and transparency cornerstones of our Board’s actions. We promise to live up to this pledge!

WHY THIS MATTERS.

Poor decisions have consequences. The current Board actively avoids accountability, and this needs to stop. The majority of the Board even publicly voted no on accountability and transparency (watch the video below). Mistakes happen, but they must be addressed transparently and corrected to prevent recurrence.

RESTRUCTURE BOARD COMMITTEES.

The Board should be structured with committees that are relevant and have Board members that are skilled and experienced on the subject matter. Personal interest or preference should be secondary. We need committees that address community advocacy, technology and innovation, financial responsibility, and hold the administration and personnel accountable to parents and students alike.

WHY THIS MATTERS.

Committees must leverage the skills and experience of elected members, not personal preference. Look at our current Board and compare the experience of committee members with the committee’s goals (view the committees here). We’re lacking necessary skills. We need committees that effectively address community advocacy, technology, and financial responsibility while holding the administration accountable.
