Admin and teacher pay increase gap
The question from our community:
What are your feelings on administrative pay increases being higher than teachers?
Pay should reflect the duties and contributions of all school staff, including both teachers and administrators. It’s important to make sure teachers, who directly impact students’ learning, are fairly paid for their work. However, administrative jobs also come with significant responsibilities for running the school system. A fair and balanced approach to pay is needed to attract and keep skilled people in all roles. It’s also worth noting that pay includes not just salary but benefits, pensions, and job security. Unlike teachers, administrators often don’t have the same job protections and can be let go by the board, which can make their positions riskier and sometimes require higher pay.
