We are deeply grateful for the trust and support you’ve shown in this election. On behalf of Brian and myself, we’re honored to serve the community as part of a Board committed to educational excellence for our students. Together, we can build a strong foundation rooted in transparency, accountability, and a shared vision for our schools. We’ve already reached out to the Board and district leadership to start building that partnership! We look forward to working with the continuing board members, including Danielle Bellomo, following her successful election last night.

We also look forward to working closely with our community and families, exploring new ways to foster positive, productive relationships with everyone who cares so deeply about our children’s future.

Lastly, Brian and I are saddened that Nirav won’t be joining us on this journey next year, but we’ll carry forward his commitment and vision in our work. We’re encouraged by his dedication to the success of all Marlboro students. Thank you, Nirav, for being such a driving force in the Partners Improving Education campaign.

Are teachers unchecked?

The question from our community:

After reading your plan for the BOE I see you say that teachers and administrators are left unchecked. Can you just elaborate on that for me. What is this referring to?

Before beginning this campaign, we listened to people in the community, including parents, former board members and MTPS employees. While our website says that MTPS administrators and staff were being left unchecked, we can see why staff could be read to include teachers. First and foremost, we support teachers and think that Marlboro has some very good ones. Our kids have and continue to benefit from those talented individuals.

We did not mean to imply that they are not credentialed or that they are not reviewed rigorously. However, the administration on the other hand, does appear to operate with little oversight, mostly due to the current board’s lack of leadership and ability to hold them accountable. We would like to change that and believe everyone, including the Superintendent and other administrators, would benefit from more leadership and accountability. In turn, we’d also like to see more transparency on how the administration is performing.

We know we might sound a bit harsh in some of our language, but please know that we love our schools and teachers. That is unequivocal. On that note, this feedback is valuable and we are going to make this more clear on our website and in our messaging.

We appreciate you giving us the chance to explain these concerns. We promise to continue to listen and partner with all stakeholders to reach our goals together.
