What are your feelings on superintendent bonuses?
We believe superintendent bonuses, like any performance-based incentives, should be well thought out and based on measurable outcomes that help students and the school community. The criteria should be clear to everyone, ensuring the bonuses are fair and in the best interests of the students and the district. The pay of any administrator should be tied to hard outcomes, including school rankings, test scores and teacher retention. We cannot comment on the current Superintendent’s pay package as we were not involved and we are not privy to his performance report. This would be a day one priority should we win and have the ability to evaluate that data.
